aeonium Zwartkop

I bought this Aeonium two years ago at the Bay Garden, it has grown hughly over the past two years and has been repotted twice.  I always look to see if has sprouted babies but alas everybody elses plants have offshots and mine hasn't - UNTIL I looked the other day and there are four babies.  It is like as if they grew overnight - I am a very excited parent!  You can see better photos in my Feb. album.

Rachel kindly gave me an Agave for Christmas, what I did not tell her by sheer conicidence I had bought one myself the same week - don't tell Rachel!!

I was in Woodies and bought these two lovely pots (well I think so!) and repotted them, they suddenly look ten times bigger in their new pots.  I also repotted all the baby agaves which were growing around the two plants, so looking forward to seeing how the 7 babies do.  Not sure if they will all take as two have barely any root attached, - watch this space.

My Must Have Annual - Diascia

Diascia Coral

Diascia Coral

I bought a tiny Diascia plant last year, I was buying 3 plants for €5 and I could not pick a third and the owner recommended the Diascia.  It was my best buy of last year.  I knew nothing about it!  But when it started to grow and flower it got better and better and better and flower for months.  I believe if you have a mild winter it can survive and even after this winter mine looks as it it may or may not have survived.  Anyway I spotted a packet of seeds in Woodies last week Diascia Fi Fi - it says it is free flowering and long lasting and flowers in just 9 weeks! It looks great in pots or in a border.  Here is a photo my Diascia Coral from last year.
