Sago Palm
I have this Sago Palm about 7 years now and about 4 years ago it got very badly burnt in a hot conservatory over a June bank holiday weekend, was very upset to lose it so cut off all the palms, watered it and low and behold it grew back. I have had no new palms since and again it was a bit sad looking and I was getting fed up looking at it! In May I took the plunge and cut off all the palms, watered it, fed it and put it on the landing.
Went away in July, came back still nothing, a few weeks later I noticed a glimmer of hope -
Look at photo album to see progression since! I repotted it also.

Echinacea
I have been really pleased with my Echinacea this year which I grew from seed last year and the bees absolutely love them. I will definately grow more and put them with my Crocosmia Lucifer and Rudbeckia next year, they are lovely strong colours for this time of year.

Glory Lily
Bought a Tuber in Aldi this year and did not know how to plant it, it was a long tuber like a cigar! I did not know which way was up until Rachel told me to plant it horizontally. I did so in April/May and left it upstairs in the garage where there is light and it is warm. When I went away at the beginning of July there was still no growth so left it there! A week after I came back I remebered it was up there and expected nothing but checked anyway, it had not been watered for 4 weeks and low and behold it was about 10 inches tall and very spindly.
I whipped it up brought it into the sunroom and watered it, then fed it and low and behold a few days later it had 3 buds. It is one plant that has stunned me for its beauty even though I badly neglected it.
By the way what do I do with it over the Winter?

Poppy Pink Dawn
My hubby has told this story to everyone!! When we were heading off on hols at the beginning of July we were all packed up and in the car and started driving down the driveway and suddenly I said 'Stop the Car'. Hubby thought oh no what has she forgotten. I jumped out of the car and ran over to my new Annuals Bed at the Front door and saw that my first 'Poppy Pink Dawn' was out in flower. I had been waiting weeks for it to flower so was so happy to see it.
Last year I sowed Poppy Pink Dawn and lost them all (Long Story!), hubby thought I was mad and was relieved I did not have to go back into the house!!!!

Here they are planted!
Martin said I could leave the ferns in one piece or split them and anyone that knows me well (Rachel!) knows I would split them!!!!

So Frustrated
Why does Garden.ie log me out when in the middle of writing a journal and then uploading photo. It says it is "due to a period of inactivity" but I have been writing on journals for the last hour - SO FRUSTRATING!

Dwarf Sunflower
The sun might not be shining down here but I am really pleased with these dwarf sunflowers I grew this year from seed from Lidl. They keep flowering the more I deadhead them and of course the bees love them.
