Carnfunnock Country Park’s Walled Garden was built in the 1840’s and occupies a total area of 0.61 hectares (1.5 acres). It was originally the kitchen garden of Cairncastle Lodge, until purchased by Sir Thomas & Lady Dixon, who owned the neighbouring Cairndhu Estate. In 1957 Lady Dixon sold it to the Council and in the late 1980’s it was transformed into the modern and tranquil leisure garden you see today.
