A two acre garden and orchard surrounds a group of old stone buildings huddled in the lee of a small hill near the shores of Clew Bay. Sycamore, ash and hawthorn provide further vital shelter, and ancient apple trees recall more self-sufficient times. The present garden has been developed over 20 years on organic principles, to include stone-paved terraces, lawns, a summer house, a polytunnel and a small pond, with a variety of carefully chosen and luxuriant new planting including bamboos, clematis and climbing roses. Twelve beds for cut flowers and vegetables complete the picture. A new woodland garden is in development, which will include a viewpoint over the surrounding landscape. Some of the produce of the garden, for instance home-made apple juice, will be available on the open weekend. Most of the garden is theoretically wheelchair accessible, but after rain the ground may be soft. The new woodland garden is not wheelchair accessible.
