Bay tree

monica martin asked 14 years ago

I would like to plant 6 Bay trees in my front garden to make a divide between my garden and my neighbours but I am afraid they will it die in winter due to frost can you do any thing to prevent this?. Or is there any other form of hedging that is thin and does not take up much room as the space is slim.

Bay trees are hardy in the Dublin area, and can be clipped to shape. Yew makes a very solid hedge, hardy evergreen and can be kept to size or cut back hard if necessary.
