bay tree leaf problems

brian lanphier asked 15 years ago

i have two bay trees in quite large containers outside my front door.i have noticed the leaves turning brown. they have only recently been transfered in to these new pots as they had outgrown the previous ones..they are around 5 feet in height.what can i do to rectify this problem.i replanted the trees in a mix of topsoil and peat.

It sounds like these plants suffered a setback due to re-potting and the dry cold weather, which would have tended to dry the leaves.

Water them and stand the pots in a sheltered place with good light but not direct sunshine except late in the day. They are likely to recover, but do not feed until there are signs of new growth.
