Clematis Montana and Wisteria

Hi Gerry. I have a pergola with some of the above growing on it. They are both encountering eachother now and starting to twine around eachother. Will they cohabit happily or will there be trouble? If you need any further details let me know… Thank you. Ronan

Clematic montana tends to make a very dense clump of stems and foliage and would be likely to over-grow wisteria, which is more open.

It is likely that you will find it necessary to jusiciously remove some stems of the clematis during the summer each year.
