I have a 290lt composter, from February ’08. (from V & W Recycling, Dundalk). It’s half full now, with fruit, veg., eggshells, egg boxes & grass cuttings. It has a lid & a solid base. Today, when checking the hatch at the bottom, absolutely nothing has happened. I even added “accelerator” last month. It’s in an open site, getting the sun. What am I doing wrong??Many thanks.Maire

Compost takes some time and perhaps it is a little too dry. Too dry and it is slower to rot because it is mainly fungi, too wet and it stinks due to anaerobic bacteria.
