coral spot on my field maple

kevin gallagher asked 12 years ago

I’ve recently discovered coral spot on my two maple trees . I made a pruning cut to eradicate this problem. My question is , will there be a good chance of this disease coming back ? i’ve checked the trees and they seem healthy to me .

Coral spot fungus is mainly a feeder on dead wood but it can affect living tissues of trees and shrubs too, maple. It generally affects trees grown in heavy ground or with too much nitrigneous manure.

Apply 50g per square metres of sulphate of potash in spring for 3 years and this will help to harden the growth against rot.
