Dahlias and gladioli can be lifted and stored in trays in a frost free shed to avoid frost. Or they can be covered with a layer of mulch such as  compost, soil or sand to prevent frost reaching them.

Peony can be divided and re-planted in autumn, but they sometimes take a few years to recover. Give them sunshine.
