daisy bush

Bonnie O Sullivan asked 16 years ago

Hi Gerry.I sowed two daisy bushes early this summer, the one with the white flower. They are still in bloom and are now about 40inches in width to about 20 high. The problem is the branches are breaking away from the root leaving gaping holes in my lovely daisy plants. Is it possible that they are too heavy for the root ? They are planted in a windy but sunny spot and I still have lovely blooms. Help as I love them and they cheer me up on a rainy day.Tks

It sounds like th4e ground is rich, growth has been rapid with a wet summer and pieces are breaking off.

The plants will resprout but you might consider lightening the load by pruning if the damage continues to occur.
