Goji berry

Helena Bergin asked 14 years ago

I bought 2 Goji berry bushes today, everyone’s talking about them so I thought I should try. They are about 60 cm high. What type of soil does it need? Sun or shade? How big does it get? Our garden is fairly protected from frost, everything survived last winter

Goji berry, also called Duke of Argyll’s tea tree, Lycium barbarum, has been growing in Irish gardens for more than a century.

It is easy to grow in an ordinary soil, well drained and in sunshine. It makes a rather straggly bush over two metres tall and wide, but can be trimmed in spring.
