I will be planting out half hardy fuchsia this week, directly into the garden, should I plant them out in a pot and if so what size pot should I put them in, to allow for root development

Fuchsias would be best in the open ground and tender kinds can be lifted and potte din autumn or cuttings taken for replacements.
Or grow them in pots of 7 to 10 litre size or bigger if the plants are bigger.
