Hedging Problem

LInda Gilroy asked 14 years ago

My query is that i planted a bare root Golden Privet hedge in June 2009. Since then there is alot of grass growing around the hedge and i think it is stopping growth. Is there any solution out there that will kill the grass but not the trees??

If you can apply Roundup very carefuly with a small sprayer … without getting it on the leaves or stem of the privet, it will kill grass. Otherwise, it must be taken away by hand. Clear soil for up to 50cm on each side of the hedge is necessary to prevent reduced growth.
