Looking to plant flowers/hedges/plants this summer around a footpath, suffer from hayfever, but would like to know what are the best ones to plant. Preferably I would like something that stay planted all year round, low maintenance, and something that doesn’t grow that high.

Hayfever is caused mostly by grass pollen and tree pollen, both kins mostly wind-pollinated. Very little hay fevr is caused by garden flowers, because most kinds of garden flowers are pollinated by insects and have sticky pollen that does not fly. So you can choose any flowers you want really.

Consult our Plant Finder which gives you choices according to different criteria of your choosing. And also go to the garden centres about four times during the year, choosing some plants for each season on each visit. In that way you will be able to see the plants and choose the ones you like the look of.
