Hydrangea is being eaten alive!!

Sandra Clear asked 15 years ago

Hi Gerry, I have 3 Hydrangeas, one in my front garden and two in my back garden. I planted them last year but the leaves got chewed to bits on all of them, I sprayed them with all sorts of bug sprays but it is starting to happen again as the leaves are beginning to appear. It looks as though it may be caterpillars….. Can you recommend anything to keep them away??

This is probably caused by snails which feed by night … look for the shiny slime trails.
