How can I remove ivy that was planted to cover a wall some years ago (8 – 20 years) I have pulled and cut it away frrom the wall and am left with the stump and root in the soil. Do I need some strong weed killer. This is the varigated kind, not wild ivy.GLAD TO BE ABLE TO CONTACT YOU AGAIN..

To kill the ivy stump paint the cut surface, immediately after cutting,  with Roundup undiluted, or if it was cut a while ago, strip the bark with a hatchet or spade and apply Roundup.
