Mary Moore asked 16 years ago

Laburnum in my front garden is now too big, making the livingroom dark, too near edge of drive & overcrowding a beautiful Magnolia, it is about 18yrs planted. How can I remove it? what is their root system like? Could I get the whole tree removed and re-design. Thank you .

Laburnum can get too big and can be cut back hard to re-sprout. If you want to get rid of it., simply cut it down and paint the cut stump with Roundup to stop it re-sprouting. Or have it taken down professionally and the stump ground out.
