lawn mushrooms

Michael-C-78 asked 14 years ago

I have small brown mushrooms growing in groups on my lawn. Is there any way of removing them for good. They seem only to grow after it rains for a few days. It is realy annoying as i try to take good care of my garden, thanks for any remedies you can give me.

These may be fairy ring mushrooms, if they appear in a rough circle, or there is a circle of dead patches or of green grass. These usually appear in older, well-mwn lawns.

There are other kinds too in clumps, without a ring. The rings are persistent, the single clumps do not last more than a year or two.

In either case, there is no direct cure. The only remedy is to brush away the mushrooms, and to disguise the marks by feeding the grass a bit more and no mowing as low as currently.
