lemon tree

Geoffrey Porter asked 12 years ago

I am growing a lemon tree in a pot in my living room. It was previously in a greenhouse ahd produced fruit. It is producing healthy leaves now but no flowers or fruit. Somtimes I see little black coloured “twigs” that break off it. Can you advise?

The little black twigs are most likely to be aborting flower buds, due to lack of light and possibly too-dry air.

A lemon tree needs the warmth of a greenhouse to flower and fruit but must have as much sunshine and heat as possible and the light indoors is much less. A bright porch or conservatory would be good.
