magnolia

Annette Hollywood asked 14 years ago

I have a magnolia tree well established for the last 7 years and blooms every spring but to my surprise it has now flowered again. Can you tell me why and also when is it a good time to take a cutting and how would i do this?

It is not unusual for magnolia to give a smaller second show of flowers in a good summer.

The best time to take cuttings would be July, or by air-layering …More information on this at: https://gardenie.wpengine.com/gerrycategory/vegetative-propagation/?id=5418#a2
