Mahonia ‘Charity’

mary reynolds asked 15 years ago

Hi Gerry. I am a new member and looking forward to your help and advice. I planted a Mahonia “charity” last spring and was looking forward to having some colour last month but unfortunately it did not flower. Can you tell me why. The plant looks very healthy.

Mahonia is sometimes sold in flower, or flowers in the first year, because of the constriction of the pot. Then it roots out into the surrounding soil.

Rooting strongly, it is more usual that the plnat makes some new growth before flowering. And you will have lots of flowers every year after that!
