Could you please advise me on what to do about mushrooms or toadstools in my lawn. They come uo in Sept / Oct but even appeared in Nov. I would like to get rid of them for good.

Toadstools and mushrooms are natural on lawns, especially with trees nearby. You will never get rid of them ‘for good’. The only thing you can do is to brush them away when you see them or trample them down.
Or you could regard them as part of the natural seasonal cycle of the garden, and quite decorative!
