I have a good size area at the back of my house where I planted an assortment of shrubs last year unfortunately with the poor summer we got it was neglected and has alot of weeds which are swamping the young shrubs IS it safe to spray weedkiller close to young shrubs and if so what do you recommend if not what do you suggest.

If it is a big area, go through with a strimmer and cut the weeds down first. Then use Roundup but be careful to allow no drift on the shrubs, which is easier to do when the weeds are cut down.
