When pruning our apple tree today we noticed some branches on one side had twisted shoots - looked like a witch hazel tree! What would cause this? Is it a disease? It is more than 40 years old and is a keeper apple, not sure of the name but has upright growth and long high branches. We live in Shankill close ot the railway line and the sea.
We have a huge patch of over growth in the back garden that i want cleared but i DO NOT want any weed killer used on the soil as I hope to start growing next year, can you tell me how to go about clearing this patch manually, Im afraid i dont know the names of the weeds as i am only starting out.
