14 large cattle broke into our lawn today. It is approx 1/4 acre. The back of the lawn was newly reseeded this Summer. The rest of the lawn to the front and sides is about 7 years old. Is there anything we can do to rectify it or is it best to leave alone. The ground is wet. I can’t sue the farmer as he is my husband.

To repair, it is easiest to do when the ground is wet. Hit each pock mark hard with the back a shovel, a couple of times. This will almost fill in most. Then a small amount of topsoil to fill each and allow the grass to grow back or scatter a shake of grass seed. The surface damage will disappear reasonably quickly.
