2009 was a very bad year for potato blight because of rain almost every day.
‘Sarpo Mira’ has exhibited very good resistance to blight, without spraying. It is always possible that this resistance will breka down if the fungus mutates, but that is an outside possibility.
The other varieties give a spread of harvest times, and flavour differences.
