sick sarcococca

Lindy Little asked 14 years ago

Please could you advise on a ten year old sarcococca which has has been having quite a bit of die back in the middle of the shrub. A younger plant which is planted beside it is also showing the same symptoms. They are planted in sandy soil in a bright place. Please can you help as they are near the hall door and give great joy on the winter day!.

Sarcococca likes a little shade and may burn or turn yellowish in a sunny place.

Although quite hardy, it may have suffered a touch of frost as it was very cold in Carlow. Wait and see how it gets on, if should be producing new growth soon.
