Spent potting compost

Feargal O\’Neill asked 15 years ago

What uses, if any, can be made of spent potting compost, e.g that used to grow annual flowers in containers?

Compost is never ‘spent’ as such. It just gets low in nutrients but these can be added by feeding.

So just mix it with some good garden soil and use it again, with some slow-release fertilizer added. There is a small disease and pest carry over risk but it is tiny.
