What’s likely cause? it occurred on the potatoes from just one plant. Plants either side are okay

Uneven growth of potatoes can be caused by wet weather following dry weather. It was dry in the early summer, potatoes form, and when wet weather comes there is a burst of growth.
It usually affects many plants, but it might affect individual plants too.
