i have a steady supply of horse manure and as i think my veg plot has enough added i was wondering could i add manure to my compost heap for use later this year or next year?

Stable manure would be better simply stacked on its own to break down. It could be mixed with compost but it is probably easier to simply stack it.

There is no great benefit from mixing it and there might be situations that you would want to use the low-nutrient compost as a mulch without boosting the growth of plants in the way that manure would.

But either way could be pursued.
