Unhealthy-looking Hydrangea

Anne McGrath asked 9 years ago

I planted a hydrangea earlier this year, which was thriving – lovely dark green foliage & growing rapidly. Since the start of our ‘summer’ it has started to be effected by, what looks like, mildew. It has started to turn a pale yellow and is losing its leaves. I’ve treated the mildew with a baking soda solution however the shrub is still failing, badly!

It just hasn’t rooted out into the surrounding soil and is undergoing a transition.

Despite the rain, it needs watering once a week until the end of September, or until it perks up.

No feeding now.

No need for baking soda.
