i have a problem with weeds around my beech hedge. i have Gallop weed killer. is that ok to use? if not can you suggest what i should use? also i have a high bank which is taken over by weeds. there is lavander planted on it. can i weed around the lavander with weed killer without damaging them??

Gallup contains glyphosate and is similar to Roundup. It can be used very carefully around young trees and shrubs, but it must not get on the leaves or stems as it can penetrate thin bark. It does not act in the soil.
Try it carefully on a small area and see how it goes. You might need to get a spray hood, or make one using a cut-off plastic 5-litre bottle.
