weeds in flower bed

Is there any spray i can put on the soil in a flower bed to kill weeds,and be able to plant in it soon after. i have grass roots i think is switch grass, they are yellow/white. and some other hard to get rid of weeds. that have come up after cleaning out before. an organic spray was suggested to me before but unable to locate any.

It is important to clear perennial weeds before planting a flower bed. This can be done by hand-digging, or covering with black polythene or old carpet until the weeds are dead … these are the organic ways.

Or you can use Roundup to kill existing weeds and dig over a week later. It does not affect the soil.
