I have a wisteria which is about 10 years old it is only grtting its leaves now and so has no flower buds could this be that I pruned it at the wrong time ? will it recover as it was amazing 2 summers ago with loads of flowers.

Wisteria usually produces flowers before leaves, but the Japanese wisteria produces flowers after leaves. So it may flower yet.

It is possible, if you pruned it hard, that you have disrupted flowering for a couple of years. At 10 years it should flower well each year.
