Can you grow white thorn from cuttings ? if so how do you cut and plant the cuttings i have one side of my site white thorn and would love to plant the othher side.

There is little success with cuttings and it is grown commercially from seeds.

These need to be stratifed, which means given a full winter, if not two to break seed dormancy. 

Pick hawthorn berries in late autumn, mix with 2 parts of clean sand and store in a heap but protect against mice. Sow the seeds in spring, and some might sprout or just wait until the second spring when most will sprout. Allow the seedlings to grow for two years and plant out.

Or buy the seeldings in autumn as thorn quicks, many rural garden centres now stock these as they are sold for REPS schemes, or seek out a forest nursery nearby.
