I used Resolva lawn weedkiller already made up on my lawn a few weeks ago. To my horror I now have at least twenty large dead grass patches in my lawn. I have tried to reseed but none of the seed has germinated. Can you help? For about ten days after I applied the weedkiller the patches kept getting bigger and in fact some of them have merged. I have used weed and feed every year for probably about twenty years and have never had this problem.

Roots just under lawn

I have come across a virtual 'labyrinth' of roots, just under my back yard lawn (that was rolled lawn laid 2 years ago). The roots are identified by what i had thought were a 'flowering weed', however i discovered that they were in fact growths from a series of varying width roots that exist approximately 2 - 6 cms under teh grass surface. I have simply (and quite brutally), used a claw hammer to 'hook' the root from the 'bud', and then using the hammer, pulled up the root (vary in width from 3mm to 1.5cm and length of 300mm to 1m. The area of lawn is 6m x 7m. There are 2 large trees in the opposite neighbors backyard, but dont seem to be attached to these.

Unidentifiable weed

I have recently done up my back garden. Prior to this it was a forest of weeds and ivy. There was always 1 weed which grows up to nearly 6 feet, I used to chop down every few weeks, but it would grow back to the same height again within 5 or 6 weeks. I have been unable to identify it, so therefore i didnt know how to kill it off. It is now coming up through my new lawn. Would you be able to identify it from the pictures below (which is it only as a shoot), and maybe tell me how best to eradicate it?

weeds in new lawn.

i have just sown a new lawn 2 months ago,it is very patchy with lots of weeds like chickweed mixed through it.thistles are also a problem. i have cut it every week with the hope of killing off the weeds but they still remain.in the patchy areas i have applied more seed but the lawn looks very dirty.what can i do to rectify this?lots of people are telling me to give it a weed and feed, but is the lawn not too young?

Our lawn is full of clover, daisies and moss. I have read your messages on how to treat the above, but need advice as to the order we should tackle the problems and how much time should we leave between treatments. When should we spread sulphate of iron? I've found a weedkiller that contains mecoprop, when can I spray this? Finally what brandname is a good high nitrogen fertilizer and when do I spray this? Ta.
