I have a weed through out my garden I think its called Bine Weed how can I control it. Its very hard to get to the root of it. I can't spray weed killer as it is attaching itself to my plants and hedge.

I have a number of sacks of wood shavings (ash and oak) and wonder if I can use it as a mulch and what plants to avoid?

I was wondering if there was a good weedkiller that can be used to kill weeds around the base of shrubs and how do I keep them away?

My query is that i planted a bare root Golden Privet hedge in June 2009. Since then there is alot of grass growing around the hedge and i think it is stopping growth. Is there any solution out there that will kill the grass but not the trees??

I've cleared an area, about 1/5 acre, which has about 20 native trees. The site is elevated and windy. I would like to mulch the entire area and have the followings questions:- Do I need to use a landscape fabric under the mulch?- How deep should the layer be?- Would you recommend bark mulch or wood chip mulch?

I have a problem with Convolvulus/Bindweed and it is growing in by Buxus Hedge. I cant get to the roots to dig it out. Have you any ideas.Many Thanks John

I have a good size area at the back of my house where I planted an assortment of shrubs last year unfortunately with the poor summer we got it was neglected and has alot of weeds which are swamping the young shrubs IS it safe to spray weedkiller close to young shrubs and if so what do you recommend if not what do you suggest.

Our large hedge which is at the back of a border has been split in two leaving a very bare area about 1.5 metres wide. I want to maintain this area now as some kind of path to allow access to the back of the border and to ease the cutting of the hedge.What should I use to ensure weed control? Cost is an issue- the hedge is 50 metres long.

This is the first year that I have been unable to obtain granular weedol (weedol2) in any of the Dublin garden centres. They all stock liquid weedol ( weedol max superfast) I tried to buy weedol 2 on the internet but a notice came up saying that weedol 2 cannot be delivered here. Any idea what this all about and how can i obtain weedol 2.

Is there a weed killer which can be used in the wet? I need to kill off weeds & grass in my drive way but it's so wet here at the moment my wife is wondering if it will ever be done.

A neighbour sprayed his grass verges on our boundary fence line with result we lost 2 perennials and our Joseph Rock Rowan tree was just bursting into leaf all healthy buds prior to the spraying. Result is that our tree has basically stopped growing the leaves and some buds have died, a few leaves have remained 'in limbo' so to speak. Is there any hope for the tree or will we have to replace it?

What do you recommend for killing widespread convolvolus without damaging plants it is growing on? Will Roundup work?
