Ennis Flower and Garden Club is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a Floral Demonstration by Gill McGregor, NAFAS National Demonstrator, at Treacy’s West County Hotel, Ennis on Tuesday, 17 October, at 8pm. Admission €10. And there will be a Christmas Floral Demonstration by Ann O’Hara (Nenagh), same venue, on 21 November at 8.15pm. All are welcome.

Irish Garden Plant Society (Munster): Next lecture will take place at 8pm on 3 October, at Northridge House, Mahon, Cork, with Dr Eoin Lettice, UCC, on How Plants Will Save The World. Admission free for IGPS members and €5 for non-members (includes light refreshments). Raffle on the night. All welcome.

Templeogue Horticultural Society will hold its Annual General Meeting in Our Lady’s School, Templeogue, Dublin, on 18 October, at 8pm, followed by a Plant Swap. All are welcome.

Galway Flower and Garden Club is hosting a Garden Talk on 10 October in the Menlo Park Hotel, at 8pm, entitled Galway Gardens – a virtual walk through some local gardens. And a Sparkling Christmas Floral Demonstration on 21 November at the same time and venue. Demonstrator is Mary Keogh, Limerick. Foxrock and District Garden Club meeting on 24 October with Vanessa Cook on Foliage is better than Flowers at Foxrock Church Pastoral Centre, at 8pm. Admission €7 for non-members.

Cork Alpine/Hardy Plants Society: At 8pm, on 26 October, at The Lavanagh Centre, Ballintemple, Cork, Vanessa Cook of Stillingfleet Gardens and Nursery, York, will give a talk Foliage is better than Flowers. And on 23 November, same time and venue, James Wickham will talk on Better late – plants that turn on the charm in Autumn and Winter.

Waterford Regional Gardening Club: On 19 October, at 8pm, in The Edmund Rice Centre, Barrack Street, Waterford, The Pharmacy in your Garden by AnneMarie Reilly Medical Herbalist. Non-members €5. And on 4 November, at 11am, Trees in their Autumn Beauty – a guided walk of the gardens at Mount Congreve with Michael White, Garden Curator.

Cork Flower and Garden Club will hold its Christmas Gala, The Holly and the Ivy … and some Bling with Richard Haslam in Canon Packham Hall, Douglas, Cork, on 14 November. All visitors are welcome.

Howth and Sutton Horticultural Society: On 4 October, a lecture by Averil Milligan, Head Gardener for over 12 years at Rowallane Garden. Rowallane – A Plant Paradise.
