Can you recommend a tree or large shrub for a corner of our garden which is in full shade all day long and which is very wet throughout the year. We are also located on the coast.

Only broadleaved evergreens will grow in shade and there is no evergreen that will grow in wet soil.
You must drain the area to a soakaway or pile up more soil to keep the roots out of the wet ground, then holly, ruscus, sarcococca, aucuba or lauristinus should survive.
