just purchased one Grenadier apple tree. The internet says partially self fertile….what is your opinion?. I am in suburbia and there may be other trees about but none I know of in my estate.

Most apples are best with a pollinator, including ‘Grenadier’. Even though you know of no apples, it is very likley that there are some around, and even flowering crabapple trees make excellent pollinators.

Wait and see how it does and if it consistently has flowers but no fruit set, or not many, plant another, such as ‘Discovery’, which is a very good early eating apple.
