Beech tree

Geddy asked 13 years ago

I have also planted a beech tree some 6 years ago (fagus sylvatica) about 30 metres away from the house and would like to know: 1. any problems with the roots in the future to foundation or pathway around house?2. I noticed, that the tree has 3 leaders (one would be better?) and should I cut out the other leaders ? Also would like to prune lower, bigger branch. when should that be done (early spring or late fall)?

The beech tree, at 30 metres, will not cause problems for the house but may lift paving if it is close.

One leader makes a tree with better structure and branches are normally pruned in winter.
