I have black moss-like patches in my lawn, and they seem to be slowly spreading. Any suggestions? Thanks

The black ‘moss’ is probably algae, growing in the sod due to wet weather. This often happens on lawns that need more feeding.

If you apply lawn sand or sulphate of iron for moss control, the algae will be control also, but the lawn needs more regular feeding.
