Bush or Vine tomato?

Tony Sayers asked 13 years ago

I am new to tomato growing and have grown both bush and vine types from seed. All plants are doing well. However I did not note which type was which, is there a way to recognize one from the other now?

Vine type tomato varieties have a central main shoot that is stronger and more vigorous than the side shoots that arise in the axils of the leaves. The side shoots are taken out and the central main shoot allowed to grow away on its own, winding it around a support string as it goes. Vine types are more easily managed in a greenhouse because they are more easily trained upright to the roof, and bush types are often used outdoors.

Bush types, or indeterminate types, has lots of shoots of equal vigour, forming a bushy shape.
