Cauliflower gone to seed

Connie Kennedy asked 15 years ago

My cauliflower plants have all gone to seed. I bought them as plants and planted them in the garden in May. Is there something I should have done to prevent this happening?

It is naturaI for cauliflower plants to go to flower when they reach the right stage, having formed the heads, but cauliflower plants can go to flower early if they get a shock, by going dry, being left in pots too long or uneven growing conditions.

It is most important that they are handled carefully, given no set-back … transplanted small and carfully, or the seeds sown directly where they are to grow and thinned out.
