Container Planted Bamboo dying

Sue Heinen asked 15 years ago

I planted a black bamboo last year and due to lack of water it now looks like it may be dying. The majority of the leaves are yellowy-brown in colour. Is there anything I can do to save it now? Should I feed it with anything in particular or trim it maybe?

Bamboos get a very bad set-back when allowed to dry out. The plant will begin with smaller shoots and build itself up again, but only if you keep up watering, and a big bamboo needs a lot of water in a pot.

Plant it out in the opne soil if possible.
