why did the croscosmia not bloom? it is the large red flowered variety. the flower buds were there but didn’t open. they flowered last year and the previous years.

Crocosmia likes an open position with sunshine. It would be very unusual for buds to form and lot open in this vigorous plant. Perhaps it was disturbed in some way, for instance, by digging close by, or if the soil went dry in the good spell.
