We sowed a new 3/4 acre lawn on a new build site in early June. Edges are fine but centre is very yellow and thin. Could I feed the lawn now while there is still growth and if so what would you recommend?

Apply 10-10-20 or similar now and again in spring, at 30grams per square metre. But do not use 10-10-20 after that. Instead use a high-nitrogen compound, such as Richland or Pasture Sward, but only a couple of times each summer and in small amounts, not more than the above rate, or too much growth will result.

There are also slow- release fertilisers available that do not create as much initial vigour.
