Fleece cloches are not as warm as plastic cloches but they help to increase temperature by reducing wind chill and retaining warm air.
They are fine where a touch of warmth is required such as early carrots or lettuce, but pastic can be used in the same way and are warmer, say for instance to grow early strwaberries, which the fleece would not bring on as early.
