My garden is a small one – gets plenty of sun, good drainage. I would like to have a couple of perennials that provide some colour outside of the summer bedding plants – any suggestions?

What you need are border perennial flowers, of which there are very many, and you can find more about them on our Plant finder: https://gardenie.wpengine.com/plant-finder

But just to nam a fe good ones:

phlox for summer flowers, oriental hellebore for spring, astilbes for summer, japanese anemone for late summer, agapanthus for summer, iris for May, and aster and rudbeckia for autumn.
